Occasionally, my hosting service hiccups and emails get backed up. If this is happening, then nobody will be getting confirmation emails and people will just stack up in the Unconfirmed category. If this happens, I'll manually confirm people in the order they signed up.
Otherwise...
To date, people having troubles getting the confirmation emails have generally fallen into three categories:
1. They are behind a corporate firewall/spam filter
2. They are on FairPoint
3. They misspelled their email address
Emails that are generated by the system come from geoff@scrimmagesonline.com, however the actual hosting service is called dreamhost.com and the server is called flames.dreamhost.com. This results in a mismatch in the email header information between where the email is coming from, and where the email says it's coming from. This is often reason enough for a spam filter to trap the email. I suggest if at all possible to use a mailing address outside of work, and just put a rule in place that mail from geoff@scrimmagesonline.com be forwarded to your work address. This *should* solve the problem as now the email will be coming from your home account and not my hosting service directly.
